RTE’s Dinesh D’Souza on the controversy surrounding ‘The Big Bang Theory’ ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ reboot controversy
D’Iers has been accused of racism after calling a white man a “dick”.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the host of the popular sitcom The Big Bang theory said he had never been to a gay bar.
He also said that his new sitcom “The Big Fat Show” was a “white man’s show”.
“We’ll just get to the real question,” he said.
“Why are we all talking about this?
Why are we having all these conversations about the show?
He continued: “I don’t think this is going to stop us having conversations. “
And this is not about racism, this is about being honest and telling the truth about these things that we are hearing.”
He continued: “I don’t think this is going to stop us having conversations.
We are going to continue to talk about these issues.””
I’m not going to sit back and pretend this is something that’s not happening.
I’m going to be on the show, and I’m just going to do my job and let my kids know, that we’re going to support each other.”
The host said he didn’t think he was racist, but that people who were “in denial” about racism were making “some bad assumptions”.
“There are certain stereotypes that I don’t believe are real and there are certain assumptions that we make that we then make,” he continued.
“If we don’t have those beliefs then we’re just going, ‘I don,t see anything wrong with that’.”
“The Big Show” premiered last week.
It has been widely criticised for its use of white actors in key roles, and for its portrayal of black people as caricatures.
The show, which is about a young white man who falls in love with a black woman, has drawn criticism from gay rights activists and many celebrities.
